Draw Something updates, gets more social

Draw Something, that insanely addictive Zynga version of Pictionary has been updated to include a slew of new social features. For one, users can send comments along with their drawings to their "partner" as well as add a comment after they've guessed, or haven't guessed their partner's picture. Dan Porter, Vice President and General Manager of Zynga Mobile New York says, "Our players continue to make the game their own and we want to help them do just that by giving them what they’ve asked for – more ways to share and connect with their friends."

Furthermore, you can now share your Draw Something creations on Facebook and Twitter. Add your thoughts as well as a hashtag. If you think your picture was awesome, use #humblebrag and if you think it, well, fell short (to put it nicely) use #epicfails. You can also save your drawings to your photo library and email them to your friends, or use as your phone's wallpaper. As mentioned earlier, the service also lets you add comments to your pictures which are limited to 100 characters. Your partner will be able to respond to your comment after the guess. Of course, this can be used as an unscrupulous cheat tool, but Zynga would prefer that you didn't cheat. If you haven't read the Tech2 review on Draw Something yet, hurry up, it's here. One of my gripes with the app was the menu of games could not be refreshed unless you closed the app and reopened it. With the new version of the app, you can update your games by pulling down to refresh. There is also an undo button to erase your last stroke in the drawing. And finally, the new level of achievement for showing off has gone up from "The 100 Club" to 999. That's right, you need a winning streak of 999 to be, for the lack of a better word, Drawsome.

Draw Something came out in March of this year and has already seen 6 billion drawings and 50 million total installs within 50 days. On the day that the application launched, they had some three drawings per second. At its peak, Draw Something generates around 3,000 drawings per second. Currently, the most popular words on Draw Something are table, airplane, bubbles, starfish and birthday. The least popular words are Picasso, Aardvark and arena. All the new features in the updated Draw Something are available for iOS, however, for Android, a few of the sharing features might take a little while to roll out.
